Cynthia Young has been employed with Hopewell City Public Schools since August 2001 as a Business & Information Technology Teacher and FBLA Adviser. Currently, she serves as the Career & Technical Education Lead Teacher.
She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Old Dominion University and completed Post Graduate Educational Leadership coursework through Virginia State University.
During her years of employment with HCPS, she has held several leadership positions: Administration Coverage Team (A-Team), Chairperson-Attendance Committee, Co-Chairperson-Leadership & Governance Committee, Credit Recovery Facilitator, Cyber Camp Summer On-Site Director, Department Chairperson, SET Coach/Master Teacher, HHS Webmaster, JTCC Dual Enrollment Testing Coordinator, Homebound Teacher, School Leadership Team, and Superintendent Advisory Council Representative.
Mrs. Young enjoys exercising and spending time with her family. Her favorite quote is “Teachers teach for the outcome and not for the income”.
