Congratulations Track Team!!! 2nd Annual Denbigh Holiday Classic

Leah Brown had an awesome run placing 3rd overall in the 300m receiving a bronze medal!!
Tiana Fleming displayed passion and grit in her run as she placed 2nd overall in the 500m AND 300m receiving a silver medal in both events!!
Dante Brown raised the bar and had an outstanding performance placing 1st overall in the 55m Dash and 300m receiving two gold medals! He also had PRs at those events!!
Nairelle Cain-Jones, Daniya Glenn, and Camryn Watkins had PRs in the Shot Put. Aliyana Johnson had a PR in the 500m, and Steven Dennis had a PR in the 55m!
I also would like to recognize the following athletes for running in their very first track meet ever: Amiyah Pegram, Nadia Matthews, Larry Burgess III, Armani Archer, Brody Rhoades, Shaniya Jones, Annaya Cooke, Madisyn Morgan, Kingston Williams, Kymari Edmunds, and Trinity Young. They did an AMAZING job!!!

SOL Testing starts Tuesday, December 3rd at Hopewell High School! (click here for testing schedule)

Parents, please ensure that your child is at school every day during the month of December so that he or she can participate and pass the SOL tests, which is a high school graduation requirement. If your child has any appointments scheduled during the school day in the month of December, we ask that such appointments be rescheduled for after school or in the afternoon since most SOL tests are completed by 1:00 PM. It is critical that your child attend school every day in December so that he or she can receive the review and instruction needed to pass the SOL tests. Please see the testing schedule below. After-school tutoring begins Wednesday, September 4 - Thursday, December 12. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays 3:15-4:30 pm. See the attached Flyer for additional information!

The Special Education Advisory Committee welcomes you to join us Tuesday September 10th at Patrick Copeland 5:30-6:30 for our first meeting for the school year. Whether your student has a complex disability or just needs a little extra help with their learning, we want to make sure our schools are meeting their needs.
